IIM Kashipur

 

 

 

 

Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is set up by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and belongs to elite leagues of top management schools called IIMs in India. It has been set up with the objective of imparting quality management education in all sectors including government ministries, department and agencies in India and from abroad while sensitizing the participants towards the needs of the society. The institute offers its flagship two-year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM). The rigorous curriculum seeks to instill a passion for knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge to real life scenarios. The institute has launched customized training programs for government officials from all the three organs – executive, judiciary and legislative. It also offers Executive Fellow program equivalent to PhD.

 

The Center of Excellence on Public Policy and Government (COEPPG) is set up by the institute as platform to serve as a bridge between policymakers, government agencies, civil society, industry and academia by supporting scholarly research, public policy and administration training programs, and other capacity building activities at the intersection of government and society addressing some of the most important public policy and governance issues. It combines educational programs with current research, training and advisory services based on thematic public policy analyses. The Center hosts a diverse team on internal faculty as well as visiting scholars committed to interdisciplinary public policy research, teaching, and engagement addressing topics such as public administration, law, gender, environment, education, social engineering, migration, human rights, media, information society, conflict resolution, transitional justice, business and good governance. 

 

READ India

 

 

 

 

 

 

READ India is a nonprofit organization working with communities in India since 2007. Since then, we have been working with a wide range of underprivileged people: some of the most primitive Tribes, the Muslim Minority, rural villagers in the plains and the hills, migrant communities, slum dwellers, and people livening in unauthorized colonies. Our core objectives are: to help establish Community Library and Resource Centers, to provide a platform for local socio-economic initiatives, and to build the local capacity of communities to develop and management community-development initiatives.

 

To date, READ India has set up 13 Centers and 17 sustaining enterprises to date in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Haryana, and West Bengal – impacting nearly 100,000 people to date.  We plan to establish another 5 – 7 new Centers in the next two years in the existing states.

 

Each READ center has following resources:

 

  • A library with 3,000-5,000 books, magazines and newspapers in both English and the local language.

  • An information communications technology (ICT) section with computers, Internet access (where available) and computer skills training.

  • A women’s empowerment section providing a safe space for women and girls to attend classes and trainings and receive medical exams.

  • An early childhood section with child-friendly furniture, educational toys, and reading materials.

  • A multimedia and communications section including TV, video, DVD player, telephone, fax and copying services.

  • A training/meeting hall where staff and partners conduct various programs.

  • Specific training programmes are designed with training modules for capacity building programmes under each component based on the activities defined above.

 

The READ model is community based integrated programme with education, enterprise and social development of rural communities. Need-based training programs for livelihood and social development are conducted on a regular basis. Our programs focus on creating a culture of learning for all ages. Key themes for programming and trainings include literacy, livelihood skills, information technology, women’s empowerment, health, etc.

After the successful launch of its flagship online portal Orissa Diary in 2005 (www.orissadiary.com), the OMIS has diversified its online brand to cater to national and international readers. Currently several new portals are either in operation or under preparation. India Education Diary (www.indiaeducationdiary.in) and E-India Education (www.eindiaeducation.com) have received increasing levels of visits.  Other new ventures include Bihar Diary (www.bihardiary.com) E-India Diary (www.eindiadiary.com) India Jobs Diary (www.indiajobsdiary.com) and Fulltoosh (www.fulltoosh.com). It is the first complete portal on the state of education in India. It will provide a wide range of education activities like education news, exams, education policy, colleges, universities and so on. This site attempts to cover the Indian education scenario in the best manner possible. Indiaeducationdiary aims at reflecting the contributions and concerns of the students, youths, faculty, policy maker, and many more. It strives to bring together the entire core groups of the education.

Tribhuvan University

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tribhuvan University (TU) is the first national institution of higher education in Nepal. It was established in 1959 A.D. The Central Administrative Office and the Central Campus of the university are located on the north eastern facade of Kirtipur, an ancient and small town located five kilometers away from Kathmandu city centre. There are 38 central departments and 4 research centres in TU, and out of them 31 departments and 3 research centres are located at Kirtipur. The university at Kirtipur is spread over an area of 154.77 hectares (3042-5-2 ropanis).

After the second democratic movement of 2006, the Prime Minister of Nepal is the ceremonial chief, the Chancellor of the University, whereas the Minister of Education is the Pro-Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive of the university. He is assisted by the Rector in academic programmes and the Registrar in financial management and general administration.

Tribhuvan University is a non-profit making autonomous institution funded by the Government of Nepal. On January 8, 2013, the government of Nepal has principally agreed to declare Tribhuvan University as the Central University.

PUBLIC LIBRARY ILIJA M. PETROVIC POZAREVAC, SERBIA

 

 

 

 

 

 

Public Library Ilija M. Petrovic was founded in 1847 as a reading room and it is one of the oldest  cultural institution in Serbia. From 1995 it is the county library for Branicevo District. It’s holding consist of almost 120 000 items. Free Access to Books contains current titles from the most recent of literary publications, as well as books from all areas of human knowledge, science and popular literature.

The organizational structure of the Library consists of different departments where jobs are divided into the different areas of expertise

The Library has electronic  Cobbis catalogues, for fast and complete searching and reviewing as well as browsing.

The Library collects, preserves, organizes and makes dissemination of knowledge and information and provide different kind of services. We may say that Library in Pozarevac became a bridge which allows citizens to be adequately informed and have quick access to knowledge.  

The visibility and image of a library in the community is also showcased by the cultural events it organizes, so the rich cultural program of the Public Library Pozarevac includes prominent authors and intellectuals from all areas of culture and social life. We present our library, with good reason,  as a venue characterized by the endless possibilities to promote various cultural and social values.
